Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must have a B.E./B.Tech./B.Sc. (Engineering) degree from an AICTE-approved institution in the relevant discipline:
- Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Telecommunication
- Mechanical
- Computer Science / Computer Science & Engineering
- Electrical / Electrical & Electronics
- UR/OBC/EWS: First Class
- SC/ST/PwBD: Pass Class
- Candidates with AMIE/AMIETE/GIETE are also eligible.
Age Limit
- General/EWS: Maximum 25 years
- OBC (NCL): Relaxation of 3 years
- SC/ST: Relaxation of 5 years
- PwBD: Relaxation up to 10 years (additional as per category combination)
Salary
- Pay Scale: ₹40,000 – 140,000 (E-II Grade)
- CTC: Approximately ₹13 lakhs per annum
Selection Process for Probationary Engineer
- Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Duration: 120 minutes
- Total Questions: 125 (100 Technical + 25 Aptitude/Reasoning)
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark per question; ¼ negative marking for wrong answers
- Minimum Qualifying Marks:
- General/OBC/EWS – 35%
- SC/ST/PwBD – 30%
- Interview
- Shortlisted candidates (1:5 ratio) will be called based on CBT performance.
- Final Merit Weightage: CBT (85%) + Interview (15%)

- Payment Mode: Online (SBI e-Pay Lite Gateway)
- General/OBC (NCL)/EWS: ₹1000 + GST = ₹1180
- SC/ST/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen: Exempted
Service Agreement
Selected candidates must sign a service agreement to serve BEL for a minimum of 2 years post-training.
- Training Duration: 6 months
- Bond Amount: ₹2,00,000 for breach of contract
